(Austin, TX) — A growing number of Republicans are coming around to the idea of updating the nation’s medical marijuana laws. The latest is Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller, who says the government should get out of the way when it comes to medicinal use. He compared the state’s current drug laws to the prohibition of alcohol in the 1920s. He said every Texan with a medical need should have access to marijuana, which he called a medicine. Miller said it’s all about freedom and removing the government from making health care decisions.
