Album Review: “Multiverse” by Reptaliens

“Multiverse” Album Cover

The Reptaliens originated in Portland, Oregon and are most fittingly considered a Sci-Fi Indie band. The band debuted with their first single, Prequel/ Olive Boy, in March of 2017 and have stayed true to their original sound and goal of exploring pop culture.

The album Multiverse is composed of 10 songs each with a surreal dreamscape feel and was released in January of this year. The album is an out of this world indie coming of age experience which the film/play How to Talk to Girls at Parties, in my opinion, deserved as the soundtrack that would’ve created an immaculate vibe and gave the movie the boost it needed.

The lead singer and instrumentals blend together creating such a trippy indie feel. Even the song titles “I Feel Fine”,“Do You Know You Are Sleeping”,” I Can’t Hide”, and “Jump” set the tone of growing up emotionally as well as coming into your own individuality within the album and are further supported by the lyrics of several songs.
This album would be great for fans of the Netflix shows The Midnight Gospel and Bojack Horseman as well the Indie band, Grouplove. The band and their newest album are simply out of this world and deserve many a listen. I look forward to hearing the band’s next release!
