Whataburger employees are getting a big thank-you from the boss.
The San Antonio-based burger chain says they’re awarding their workers more than 90-million-dollars in bonuses to thank them for their outstanding service during the pandemic and the winter storm.
Whataburger is also doubling 2020’s matching 401(k) contribution, and giving employees emergency pay and Extra Mile bonuses.
The company has about 46-thousand employees at 840 restaurants in ten states, that bring in $2.5 billion annually.
“The past year reshaped how we live, work and play, with the restaurant and hospitality industry being heavily impacted by the pandemic and this year’s crippling winter storms. We are so humbled and grateful for the loyalty of our customers during this time,” Whataburger CEO Ed Nelson said in a news release.
Whataburger announced as well that general managers will be moved to operating partners. This title has the opportunity to make a six-figure salary, plus bonuses, officials said.
