Thousands of unaccompanied asylum seeking immigrant children are to be temporarily housed in Dallas.
KXAS reported yesterday that immigration attorney Fernando Dubove says an agreement has been struck between the federal government and the city of Dallas to house around three-thousand immigrant boys at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.
Dubove says the 15 to 17-year olds mainly from Central America will stay there up to 90-days while arrangements are being made to get the kids connected with family members already in the U.S. or other adoption arrangements can be made for them.
The city confirms the plan, but the federal government has yet to do so.
