On Tuesday, Musk tweeted “Creating the city of Starbase, Texas.”  The SpaceX facility is in the unincorporated community of Boca Chica Village near Brownsville.

Musk has approached Cameron County officials about changing Boca Chica Village’s name to Starbase City but he’ll have to follow through on a number of legal steps in order to make it happen.

This process would include utilities in the town, which is short of a public water system. Water has to be transported by truck from Brownsville and stored in tanks.

SpaceX tests rockets in McGregor, Texas as well. The Starship prototypes being developed in Boca Chica are meant to fly people to the moon and mars.
