KTXT-FM is off-air due to ice on our antenna. The ice causes the radio signal to be reflected back to the transmitter, which could potentially cause major damage to the broadcast equipment. To prevent such damage, the equipment automatically detects the problem and shuts the radio signal off.
Unfortunately, the current wintry weather is expected to get worse over the next several days, with colder air and several inches of snow forecast for the area. Once the air temperatures rises above freezing, and the ice on the antenna melts, KTXT will be able to resume its radio broadcasts.
