Cruz gets haircut at Dallas salon whose owner was jailed by judge

 U.S. Senator Ted Cruz got a haircut on Friday at the Dallas salon of recently jailed stylist Shelley Luther. 

A Dallas judge sentenced Luther to seven-days in jail and hefty fines because she reopened Salon à la Mode before the state gave the green light, and because she refused to admit to being “selfish.” 

Cruz and other Republicans rallied to Luther’s support. 

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said her sentence was “outrageous,” Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick offered to pay her fines, and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin stopped by the salon. 

Luther was released from jail early.
