Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is appealing a stay of the state’s moratorium on unnecessary medical procedures.
Paxton filed the appeal on Friday with the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, claiming abortion providers are withholding medical supplies during the coronavirus pandemic.
Paxton also accused abortion advocates of hypocrisy for calling it an essential procedure after previously calling it a choice.
A federal judge issued a temporary restraining order on Thursday, a few days after the Fifth Circuit vacated a similar decision.
