Two U.S. Senators from opposite sides of the aisle are using social media to challenge people nationwide to support their communities during the pandemic.
Texas Republican Ted Cruz and Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand of New York initiated the bipartisan campaign on Monday.
Cruz tweeted a video calling on Americans to “support each other” as we fight the disease.
He called on Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, and Houston businessman Mattress Mack to join the effort within 48 hours.
Gillibrand tweeted a video calling on several high-profile Democrats to get involved.
