(San Antonio, TX) — The reelection campaign for U.S. Representative Chip Roy, a first-term Republican from Hays County, is now underway.
Roy filed for reelection on Monday at the state GOP headquarters in Austin.
A few hours later, a crowd of about 200 people attended a campaign launch event at Quarry Hofbrau & Beer Garden in San Antonio.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee hopes to flip Roy’s 21st Congressional District in next year’s election.
Roy will probably face failed gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis next November.
