Despite the scary hit that Earl Thomas gave Mason Rudolph, the QB still practiced throughout the week.
Third-string QB Devlin Hodges from Samford will make his first career start for Pittsburgh. Hodges was an undrafted rookie and got to finish the game in last week’s loss against the Ravens. The 23-year-old won the 2018 Walter Payton Award for the best offensive player in the FCS.
From all of their QB injuries, the Steelers have put Paxton Lynch on the active roster alongside RB Trey Edmunds.
The 1-4 Steelers will travel to Los Angeles to play the 2-3 Chargers for Sunday Night Football at 7:20 PM.
