Houston Texans’ speedy receiver Will Fuller will not play against the Oakland Raiders this Sunday because of a hamstring injury.
On just the second play of the Texans’ first drive against the Colts last week, Fuller made a catch but then instantly left the field. He did not play the rest of the game and did not practice any this week.
Fuller being out isn’t new for teammate DeAndre Hopkins. This is Fuller’s 17th missed game in his third season in the NFL. He is coming off an ACL injury, but at this point, Fuller is turning out to be more of a liability than an asset.
Alongside missing many games in which the Texans desperately need him to be in, Fuller also has a catching problem. Ever since his draft day, the Notre Dame receiver caught many passes with his chest, which shouldn’t be too much of a problem if those catches are touchdowns. But fans are starting to see how Fuller has had around 4 to 5 drops this season that could all have been for a big gain.
With Fuller out again, the Texans might look to other teams to find a number two receiver to DeAndre Hopkins before Tuesday’s trade deadline.
