The Yankees welcome back slugger Giancarlo Stanton to the lineup for Game 5 of the ALCS.
The designated hitter will look to knock some balls out of the park against Astros’ ace Justin Verlander. This is a win or go home game for the Yankees after losing 3 straight games to the Astros.
In Game 1 of this series, Stanton suffered from a right quadricep strain in his first at-bat of the game. He battled through his injury and stayed in the game to hit a solo home run in the sixth inning.
With Stanton back in the lineup, manager Aaron Boone will put Edwin Encarnacion on the bench after he has been 1-for-15 in this series with eight strikeouts.
Tonight’s match between the Astros and Yankees will be tonight with the first pitch set for 6:08 PM.
