An educator in the Ysleta district in El Paso is named Texas Secondary Teacher of the Year for 2020.
Parkland Middle School eighth grade teacher Michelle Sandoval received the recognition Friday during a Texas Association of School Administrators ceremony in Austin.
The UTEP grad has been teaching for 12-years where she also attended Parkland schools from elementary all the way through high school.
