Last night, the Nationals beat the Dodgers in Game 5 with a grand slam by Howie Kendrick in the 10th.
LA led the whole game mostly 3-1 until Washington’s Rendon and Soto hit back-to-back homers in the eighth inning off of ace Clayton Kershaw. The two teams eventually battled into extra innings.
National Adam Eaton was walked by the feared reliever Joe Kelly in the top of the 10th, then Rendon doubled, followed by intentionally walking Soto. Next up, Howie Kendrick.
With only one RBI in the whole series and some errors while playing first base in Game 1, he waited for 97 mph fastball to hit a deep center field grand slam.
After winning the game, Kendrick said “We never gave up. The city had faith in us. The fans had faith in us. We believed in ourselves, everybody came through for us.”
