Arizona Cardinals’ running back David Johnson is not expected to suit up for Thursday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers.
Johnson has been listed as questionable with an ankle injury which puts the newly acquired Kenyan Drake from the Dolphins in the starting spot.
Why put in a player who hasn’t been with the team for over a week you ask? Well because Johnson’s backup, Chase Edmonds, is also injured. The Cardinals’ running backs for tonight all haven’t been on the roster since the start of last week. Their running backs will be Kenyan Drake, Zach Zenner, and Alfred Morris.
The young coach Kliff Kingsbury will have a tough time tonight not only from his running back issues but especially since the 49ers are the defensive leaders in yards allowed per game with averaging 224.4 yards.
Kickoff in Arizona between the 3-4-1 Cardinals and 7-0 49ers is set for 7:20 PM on Fox.
