Saints Win Over Texans on a 58-yard Field Goal

The New Orleans Saints beat the Houston Texans in a nail-biting game by a 58-yard field goal as time expired.

Just 43 seconds before that kick, Houston’s Deshaun Watson threw a 37-yard touchdown to the former Saints receiver Kenny Stills on a 2 play drive with 50 seconds left. Watson had over 260 passing yards with 3 touchdowns on the day, but it wasn’t enough for the league’s leader in all-time passing yards, Drew Brees.

With those 50 seconds, Brees completed a 15-yard pass to Ted Ginn Jr., then an 11 yarder to Michae Thomas, and finally another pass to Ginn for 9 yards to get Lutz into field goal range.

“That one’s got to be a top-one moment for me,” Lutz said about the game-winning kick. “That one feld a little different.”

The Houston Texans will host the Jacksonville Jaguars next Sunday as both teams are coming off losses.

The New Orleans Saints will travel to Los Angeles to have a chance to get of revenge from the playoff against the Rams next Sunday.
