Pittsburgh Steeler Ben Roethlisberger is going to need surgery on his right elbow after s late first-half injury against the Seattle Seahawks. This might be the last season that we see the 37-year-old lead the Steelers.
Big Ben had an MRI exam last night and doctors confirmed that he will require surgery. He will go into the surgery later this week.
The two-time Super Bowl winner signed a contract extension in April that will run through 2021. Roethlisberger has not said anything about retirement yet.
“Prayers up to my guy Ben on his upcoming surgery,” Steelers receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster tweeted after Roethlisberger’s diagnosis was announced. “So sad to hear the news, but we’re gonna hold it down for you.”
