ESPN’s Week 2 NFL Power Rankings

ESPN has released their power rankings going into week 2 of the NFL season.

At number 12 are the Houston Texans who lost to the New Orleans Saints in a close ending. They were ranked 14th for the preseason, but after almost holding their ground against Drew Brees, they go a little higher in the rankings.

The Dallas Cowboys were placed in 6th after stomping the New York Giants last week. With Cowboy legend Jason Witten back on the team with new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, the Boys had a very controlling presence on the field.

Reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs come in at number 2 on the rankings. Their offense was unphased by a very talented Jacksonville Jaguar defense as they beat them 40-26. If any spot that Chiefs’ need to work on is the defense since they did allow Jacksonville’s rookie QB to throw some touchdowns.

At number one we have the New England Patriots who were also ranked first for the preseason. Tom Brady showed no signs of age against the Steelers last week as they dominated 33-3. Brady gave three of his receivers over 70 yards and this week should have a new weapon in his arsenal, Antonio Brown. The new feared duo of AB and Brady will face off against the Miami Dolphins this week and will most likely remain in first place in the league.
