Julian Castro says he won’t be running for the U.S. Senate if his presidential campaign fails.
The former San Antonio mayor will participate in next month’s Democratic debate in Ohio, but faces an uphill battle in qualifying for the November debate.
The Democratic National Committee raised the polling and donor thresholds for participation in November.
Castro has notified supporters that if he fails to qualify for the November debate, he’ll drop his White House bid.
But, he adds, he won’t join several other Democrats in running for GOP Senator John Cornyn’s seat in 2020.
