An ‘aggressive’ panhandler accused of targeting citizens in downtown Abilene has been sentenced to serve 7 years in prison.
Jean Ndatabaye, 22, received the 7-year sentence for Robbery Thursday in connection to an incident that happened in October of 2017.
A press release from the Abilene Police Department states Ndatabaye trapped a woman in an elevator after aggressively asking for money and food.
Police warned citizens he “is very aggressive towards the people he approaches, mainly women who are often by themselves.”
Ndatabaye was also known to solicit in the Judge Ely area of Abilene.
