Court records said police were notified by Tumblr of an account that was shut down.  Police reviewed the material provided by Tumblr which appeared to be videos of child pornography including a video of a pre-pubescent girl “engaging in sex acts with an unknown male.”

In January of 2018, police tracked the account using an IP address to the 5500 block of 96th Street. Police requested a search warrant.

After acquiring 215 files from Tumblr, police determined that, “The majority of these files appeared to be legal pornography, posts about using methamphetamine, and several pictures and videos of females having sex with dogs.”

“Seventy of the files appear to be apparent child pornography.”

In January of 2019, federal agents located Vega and he denied using the Tumblr account that had child pornography.  Court records said Vega admitted to having images of adult women on the Tumblr account, but not all the images.

“He said the rest of the material on the account was his, but not the child pornography,” court records said.

But after further questioning, he admitted to looking at child pornography and reposting it, according to the court records.  Vega was arrested on Saturday afternoon and posted bond a few hours later to be released from jail.

The charge against him is a third-degree felony.
