San Antonio, TX — The San Antonio ISD is using its new bus surveillance cameras to ticket drivers who ignore the stop signs on school buses.
The district has been ticketing careless drivers since the middle of last month. The cameras catch drivers in the act both coming and going.
SAISD issued warnings for weeks, and then started issuing 300-dollar fines in mid-October.
A district spokesperson says the cameras ticket about 100 bad drivers a day, and caught more than 18-hundred in the first four weeks.
