Houston, TX — Montgomery County District Attorney Brett Ligon is thanking the Catholic Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston for their help in an investigation of a priest.
Ligon told reporters today the raid at the Archdiocese’s secret archives in Houston has to do with evidence relating to Father Manuel LaRosa-Lopez.
LaRosa-Lopez is accused of molesting two teens between 1998 and 2001.
Ligon says he’s not targeting the Catholic church, noting he’s Catholic and is just investigating the case thoroughly.
The Archdiocese says the “secret archive” is a Church term used to protect privacy.
