Tropical Weather System Still Heading For South Texas

(Undated) — Forecasters say a cluster of thunderstorms in the Gulf of Mexico is still on a path to South Texas with a 70 percent chance of becoming a tropical depression by Friday evening.

The system known Invest 95-L should move onto the South Texas Coast by late Friday and start to break up.

The main effects in Southeast Texas will be increased rain chances, heavy surf and high tides.

Two to six inches of rain is expected for Southeast Texas through Saturday, with the heaviest rain falling south of Matagorda Bay.
