Protest Erupts Over Police Shooting Death Of Man

(Dallas, TX) — An activist group says it’s planning more protests after a police officer shot and killed a man in his own apartment last week.

About 100 people participated in a protest on Monday night organized by Next Generation Action Network.

For more than three hours, they demonstrated on Lamar Street near the Dallas Police headquarters.

They tried to get onto I-30, and police had to shoot them with non-lethal projectiles.

The protesters say the charges against Officer Amber Guyger for the death of Botham Jean should be upgraded from manslaughter to murder.
