GOP State Lawmakers To Speak In Opposition To Alamo Plaza Plan

(San Antonio, TX) — Several Republican lawmakers plan to speak today on the Alamo grounds in opposition to the plan to overhaul Alamo Plaza.

Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced Thursday morning that he has signed the proposal.

The Alamo Management Committee unanimously approved the proposal last week, and then sent it to Bush and to San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg.

The GOP lawmakers and some members of the public oppose certain elements of the plan, especially the proposed relocation of the Cenotaph.
