Dallas Officer Arrested For Manslaughter After Killing Man In His Own Apartment

(Dallas, TX) — A Dallas police officer who shot and killed a man in his own apartment is facing charges.

Officer Amber Guyger was arrested on a manslaughter charge for killing 26-year-old Botham Jean last week.

Guyger, who is white, claims she thought she was entering her own home last Thursday and found herself face-to-face with Jean, who is black.

Guyger has been with the force for four years.

In 2017, she reportedly shot and injured a suspect during an arrest, but was cleared in that shooting.
