(Houston, TX) — Vice President Mike Pence says the U.S. will once again lead the world in space exploration.
Pence spoke Thursday to NASA employees and astronauts at the Johnson Space Center.
He said the end of the space shuttle era blunted the momentum of the space program, but the Trump administration is now backing programs that will put America back on the high frontier.
Pence said a launch platform that orbits the moon will serve as a stepping-stone for American manned missions to Mars.
