Valley Border Patrol Notes Increase In Distressed Immigrant Rescues

(Edinburg, TX) — The Border Patrol says more immigrants than usual are being rescued in the hot desert.

Border Patrol section chief Manuel Padilla Junior says in the past few weeks alone eight immigrants have been found dead.

Another 50 had to be rescued from dehydration and from human smuggler persecution.

Padilla said those numbers don’t include the more than 14-hundred immigrants in good health that agents detained after they entered the country illegally last week.
