(College Station, TX) — Texas A&M is announcing a streamlined process to help victims of sexual assault report the crime.
The university will hire several more investigators, coordinators, and case managers over the next few months to help with sexual assault cases.
There will also be tougher penalties.
Students facing sex assault claims will no longer be allowed to participate in extracurricular activities or athletics during the investigation.
A student athlete found guilty of sexual assault will be suspended for at least a year and could be expelled.
