(Dallas, TX) — Southwest Airlines is clarifying its policies on emotional support animals and trained service animals on flights.
On Tuesday the Dallas-based carrier said emotional support animals will be dogs and cats only, one per customer, in a carrier or on a leash, with doctor’s orders.
Southwest said that, in keeping with Department of Transportation guidelines, trained service animals can be dogs, cats and miniature horses.
The airline said no “unusual or exotic animals” will be allowed.
