Opponents Of Texas Voter ID Call It Quits

(Austin, TX) — After seven years of court battles, opponents of the Texas voter ID law are throwing in the towel.

In a Wednesday court filing, opponents of the law told a federal district judge that the case is settled.

The law was first challenged in 2011 for supposedly discriminating against nonwhite voters.

Neither party in the case is asking for a rehearing or trying to bring the case before the U.S. Supreme Court.
