(Columbus, OH) — Ohio State University is placing head football coach Urban Meyer on paid administrative leave.
Multiple outlets report the school is investigating a claim by Courtney Smith that the head coach knew of domestic violence allegations against her ex-husband, recently fired assistant coach Zach Smith.
Courtney Smith told Stadium that she believes Meyer knew of the allegations at the time.
Meyer denied any knowledge during Big Ten Media Days last week.
Meyer issued a statement saying that he and athletic director Gene Smith feel its best to be placed on leave during the investigation to allow minimal distraction at camp.
The Buckeyes begin practice on Friday.
