(Houston, TX) — Mayor Sylvester Turner says he disagrees with a court decision concerning his opposition to a measure supported by Houston firefighters.
The ballot initiative will decide whether firefighters will be paid the same as police.
In a budget meeting last week, Turner and a city councilman campaigned against the measure.
The Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association said their opposition in a public meeting violated the Texas Election Code.
A judge on Tuesday issued a temporary restraining order against further “illegal campaigning” by Turner.
