Federal Judge Blocks Release Of 3-D Gun Blueprints

(Seattle, WA) — An Austin nonprofit’s plans to release blueprints for 3-D printed guns are hitting another snag.

A U.S. District Judge in Seattle issued an order on Tuesday halting their online distribution as a danger to American citizens.

The judge ruled publication of the blueprints could cause “irreparable harm.”

The decision blocks a recent settlement the State Department reached with Defense Distributed, which planned to make the plans available for download.
