DPS Takes Action Against Long Lines At DL Offices

(Austin, TX) — The Texas Department of Public safety is taking steps to shorten the long lines at the state’s busiest driver’s license offices.

As of Thursday, state troopers and other employees are working the lines at the highest-volume offices in the state.

Their goal is to find the customers in line who may be able to take care of their business over the phone, online, or through the mail.

The DPS says nearly four-million people waited in line last year who didn’t have to.
