DFW Area To Benefit From VW Lawsuit Settlement

(Dallas, TX) — The North Texas area is one of several in the state that should benefit from the proceeds from a lawsuit against Volkswagen.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality released a plan last week to use more than $209-million from the settlement to cut air pollution and help put more zero-emission vehicles on Texas roads.

Texas sued Volkswagen in 2015 for selling diesel vehicles that were rigged to bypass emissions tests.

In addition, Houston, San Antonio, Beaumont, and El Paso County will get priority in the state plan.
