(Houston, TX) — Congressman Al Green is grumbling about a detention center for illegal immigrant children near downtown Houston.
On Wednesday afternoon, Green visited the Southwest Key Casa Houston shelter near the Medical Center.
Green complained that he didn’t know this facility was in his district, even though he lives two blocks away.
The congressman says 71 unaccompanied children are in the shelter.
Almost all of them are South American kids who crossed the border illegally and alone.
