Viagra Study On Pregnant Women Halted After 11 Baby Deaths

(New York, NY)  —  A Dutch Viagra study on pregnant women has been halted following the deaths of eleven of their babies.

Half of the nearly two-hundred women participating were taking sildenafil, the generic name for Viagra.

Previous research showed the drug could help increase blood flow to the placenta in babies who were severely underdeveloped.

However, 17 babies were born with lung conditions and eleven died, compared to no deaths in the control group.

There’s been no immediate comment from Pfizer, the pharmaceutical giant that developed Viagra.
