(San Antonio, TX) — Another former co-worker of deposed State Senator Carlos Uresti is on her way to prison for her part in a massive investment scam.
Laura Jacobs has been sentenced to a year in prison for federal wire fraud charges.
As the bookkeeper for a Ponzi scheme that swindled investors out of millions, Jacobs forged documents, moved money around, and signed off on costly extravagances.
Uresti was convicted and sentenced to 12 years in jail. Another defendant, Stan Bates, pleaded guilty and will be sentenced in August.
