(Conroe, TX) — Public health officials are confirming reports that a Montgomery County man has contracted the West Nile virus.
Officials on Tuesday announced that said a man in his 40s who is new to the area is recovering at home after being diagnosed and treated.
This is the first case of West Nile reported in Montgomery County this year.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises people to use insect repellent, wear protective clothing when outdoors at this time of year, and drain standing water where disease-carrying mosquitoes can breed.
