EPA Says San Antonio Air Quality Fails Federal Tests

(San Antonio, TX) — The Environmental Protection Agency says Bexar County’s air quality exceeds federal smog standards.

The EPA announced on Wednesday that the area’s air quality fell just short of compliance with the national air quality standard for ozone.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality will conduct an inventory of all sources of emissions in the county.

Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff says he is “extremely disappointed” with the decision, which he estimates will cost residents “hundreds of millions of dollars.”
