(San Antonio, TX) — Early voting starts today in a special election to replace state Senator Carlos Uresti, who resigned after his conviction for fraud.
The former Democratic senator for Senate District 19 stepped down in order to serve a 12-year prison sentence.
There are three Republicans, four Democrats, and a Libertarian in the running.
One of the Democrats is Carlos Uresti’s older brother Tomas.
Early voting ends on July 27th, and the election is on Tuesday, July 31st.
