(Houston, TX) — Property owners who want to file insurance claims for losses caused by Harvey have a deadline coming up.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency says National Flood Insurance Policy claims have to be filed within a year of the date of loss.
Hurricane Harvey made landfall on the Texas Gulf Coast on August 25th of last year.
The usual deadline is within 60 days, but the extension was granted because Harvey’s damage was so widespread.
So far, nearly $9-billion has been paid out in almost 92,000 claims.
