(San Antonio, TX) — CPS Energy says the current hot spell will challenge its all-time peak energy usage this week.
The utility says customers can keep their bills from getting too high by setting their thermostats between 78 and 80 degrees, and a bit higher when they leave the house.
CPS also says people should use fans, close the blinds and drapes, and refrain from running the dishwasher or washer and dryer between 3 and 7 p.m.
San Antonio’s record high for energy use was just over five thousand megawatts on August 12th, 2016.
