KTXT participated in CollegeRadio.org’s third annual Vinylthon event, organized by the College Radio Foundation, on April 21, and successfully completed the 24 hour event.
Radio station staff participated in the event, playing vinyl records and broadcasting by remote from Yellow House Coffee, Ralph’s Records, and Flipper’s Tavern. Live music was also broadcast during the event, with Hidden Indians playing in the KTXT station during the evening.
The event completed the morning of April 22, at 9am with KTXT staff member Brandon “Big Papi” Medina acting as host to close out the event.
Successful completion of the event earned KTXT the Golden Slipmat Award from CollegeRadio.org for the first time.
