Harris County Assistant DA Loses Job

A Harris County assistant district attorney is out of a job only two days after taking the position. Marlene Bovell was fired on Wednesday for reportedly lying on her employment application. Bovell started Monday as an assistant DA assigned to the Misdemeanor Division. A county PR spokesperson says Bovell had indicated on her job application that she had never been arrested or convicted of a crime. She reportedly admitted on Wednesday that she had not answered the question truthfully. No details yet about her criminal background.
