(Washington, DC) — The Justice Department is looking into legal options following a federal court ruling on transgender people in the military.
A U.S. circuit judge in Washington, DC said transgender people can enlist in the U.S. military, starting on January 1st. Previously, President Trump made an effort to ban transgender people from coming into the military.
During the Obama administration, transgender military policies were eased.
The issue will likely end up at the Supreme Court.
