(Washington, DC) — President Trump is pushing to get the massive GOP tax bill across the finish line.
Speaking at the White House today, Trump insisted that sweeping tax cuts will boost working families. He said the Republican legislation will also help create more jobs and higher wages. Senate and House Republicans say they have reached a broad agreement on a final tax bill after separate measures were passed by both bodies.
Negotiators have been working to iron out differences in the two bills and GOP leaders say they hope to get votes on a final bill next week.
Democrats call the GOP legislation a huge gift to the wealthy and warn that it will blow up federal deficits.
